The collaborative exchange meeting of the ATscale took place in Beijing

On May 23rd, the ATscale held a collaborative exchange meeting during the Care & Rehabilitation Expo China 2023. Participants included Chi Junchang, Deputy Inspector of the International Department of the China Disabled Persons' Federation and Director of the Cooperation Office; Dong Liquan, Deputy Director of the China Assistive Devices Center for Persons with Disabilities; Pascal Bijleveld, CEO of ATscale; Kylie Shae, Head of the Assistive Technology Team at the World Health Organization, among others.

 

Chi Junchang first reviewed the progress made by the China Disabled Persons' Federation in international cooperation in the field of disability, including assistive technology, in recent years. He expressed that the China Disabled Persons' Federation will continue to deepen international cooperation in the field of disability in various forms. Dong Liquan delivered a report titled "Enhancing Access to Assistive Technology in China," comprehensively showcasing China's achievements in assistive technology and services from the "Ninth Five-Year Plan" to the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan."

 

Pascal Bijleveld and Kylie Shae introduced the organizational structure, work areas, and operational methods of ATscale and the World Health Organization's Assistive Technology Team, respectively. The meeting also invited YEAP Malyno, Director of the Department of Social Policies, Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans, and Youth Rehabilitation of Cambodia, to present an overview of assistive technology services for people with disabilities in Cambodia.

 

During the meeting, the China Disabled Persons' Federation, the China Assistive Devices and Technology Certer for Persons with Disabilities , and ATscale engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges regarding potential future collaborations.

 

Established in 2018 to promote global assistive technology development, ATscale aims to enable 500 million people to access assistive devices by 2030, in line with the World Health Organization's efforts. The China Disabled Persons' Federation is one of the founding member organizations.
